Lesson Plans and History Resources
Teach with Historic Places - offered by the National Park Services and uses properties listed in the National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places to enliven history, social studies, geography, civics, and other subjects. An excellent resource. Includes a very detailed lesson plan entitled, The Liberty Bell: From Obscurity to Icon.
Colonial Williamsburg History - provides teacher resources, lesson plans, and electronic field trips focused on Colonial America. The Williamsburg Institute offers conferences for adult learners on a variety of topics focused on life during Colonial times.
Sign the Declaration of Independence - the National Archives web site offers an opportunity for you to sign the Declaration of Independence along with our forefathers and to print a copy.
The National Archives and the Charters of Freedom - an on-line exhibit to study the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
The National Constitution Center - The National Constitution Center, located on Independence Mall in Philadelphia, is the first museum dedicated to the United States Constitution. Explore our Constitution through 100 interactive exhibits. The site offers a virtual tour of the museum that opened on July 4, 2003.
