William Penn Deed to Pennsylvania 1681 Replica of the deed given to William Penn by King Charles II. As repayment of a loan, King Charles II granted William Penn a huge tract of land later named Pennsylvania after Penn's father. The founding of Pennsylvania, an area of about 40,000 square miles, was confirmed to William Penn under the Great Seal on the 5th of January, 1681. Printed on antiqued parchment-like paper that looks and feels old. Shipped rolled or flat, the document size is 11 1/4" x 14 1/2". |
