Small Powder Horn Paper wrapped cartridge charges were commonly used by regular infantrymen by the time of the American Revolution, however, the powder horn was a necessary piece of equipment for any militiaman, hunter, or farmer who still loaded black powder charges in his musket. A natural product, powder horns are subject to variation in size, color, and shape; the average size is 8 to 10 inches long. Each horn has a wood cap and stopper permanently fixed and a rawhide lace sling. For use as an accessory only. | ||
