Large Powder Horn
Product ID: 633
Our Price $18.95

Paper wrapped cartridge charges were commonly used by regular infantrymen by the time of the American Revolution, however, the powder horn was a necessary piece of equipment for any militiaman, hunter, or farmer who still loaded black powder charges in his musket. Horns were chosen because they were readily available, watertight, and presented no risk from sparks.

A natural product, powder horns are subject to variation in size, color, and shape; the average size is 10 to 13 inches long. Each horn has a wood cap and stopper, and a rawhide lace sling, and is packaged in a plastic bag with information about the powder horn.
