Magna Carta of King John, 1215 AD
Product ID: 1975
Our Price $4.95

Complete text of the Magna Carta translated in English from the original Latin. In 1215, King John of England agreed to the demands of his barons to accept the forty-eight "Articles of the Barons". By this early constitution, King John bound himself and his "heirs, forever" to grant to all free men of the kingdom the rights and liberties stated in the charter. The Magna Carta became the law of the land.

The Magna Carta was used as an example when the United States drafted its own constitution. Today, the Constitution of the United States is the "Supreme Law of the Land" much like the rights and liberties ascribed by the Magna Carta.

Antiqued parchment paper looks and feels old. Shipped rolled, the document size is 16" x 14".
