Display of the United States of America Print by Amos Doolittle
Product ID: 1790
Our Price $7.95

A reproduction of the original "Display of the United States of America" engraving published by Amos Doolittle in 1790.

This engraving was in celebration of the Constitution and the new federal government. The linked chain of states was a popular symbol used to depict the newly confirmed federal union. It consisted of 14 interlocking circles made up of the seals of the 13 original states and the U.S. Great Seal. Within the chain is a medallion containing a profile of George Washington.

Print is black on cream stock, 16 x 20 inches. Includes history of the engraving and Doolittle on the back of the poster. A striking piece of Americana.
