We know costumes are difficult to buy over the Internet. You can't see them in person and you take your best guess for the correct size. We sell costumes from a variety of manufacturers. Costumes manufacturers provide only general information about the sizing of their products. Sizes are usually described in a range, such as "Size 8 to 10" or "one size fits all". We have found that some costumes run big while others run small. In general, the posted sizes typically correspond to the sizes of regular clothing. The product page for each item will have information about the size of that costume or accessory. While we can't guarantee the fit of any costume, the following guidelines can help you select the best size for you or your child. Selecting Children's Costumes: Child sizes refer to clothing size, not age! To determine which size will fit your child, start with what size he or she is wearing now and compare to the costume's size chart. Our children's costumes are available in the following sizes:
If your child falls within the range of one of these sizes, that size is likely to be the best fit. If your child is between sizes, choose the larger size. For example, if your child wears a size 11, the Medium Size 8 to 10 definitely won't fit...choose the Large Size 12 to 14. If your child is on the higher end of the size, you might be better off choosing the next larger size. The fit is likely to be more comfortable and your child will have room to wear a t-shirt underneath the costume for warmth and comfort. If you are still unsure, don't hesitate to give our office a call or send us an email. Kids who are too big for the largest child's costume have more limited options for ready-made costumes (but, there are lots of accessories to choose from!) It is possible one of the Adult costumes that is available in different sizes might fit. Typically, the "one size fits all" Adult costumes are sized to an adult medium or large. We cannot advise you about whether a costume can be altered. Accessories are sized to fit a wide range of people. Most accessories marked "One Size" will fit kids approximately 8 years and older (because there is some elasticity to the products fit.) Most hats are available in kids sizes. Accessories marked as "Children's" or in "Children's Sizes" will have more information about the sizing on the product page. Selecting Adult Costumes: Selecting a size for an adult is a bit simpler. Several of the adult costumes are sized and the information is available on the product page for that costume. Other adult costumes are sized as "One Size Fits Most" and this generally means that the costume will fit the "average" adult. For men, that is a usually a Men's Large. For women, that would be approximately a size 8 to 10. The product page for each adult costume will give more detail as to its size.
