We ship every business day humanly possible. If you don't find the answer you are looking for, please give us a call or send an email.

How soon do we ship?

We usually ship orders within 24 hours after payment is received, Monday through Friday. In fact, most orders received prior to 1:00 pm Eastern Time are shipped the same day. A large order or bulk shipment may take extra time - we'll let you know the lead time, if applicable. If you need to receive something extremely quickly, we do offer expedited services through UPS.

How do we ship?

We ship by USPS Priority Mail and UPS for all orders. We do not use FedEx or post office services other than Priority Mail.

What are your shipping charges and handling fees?

Shipping charges are actual charges based on destination zip code and package weight for both Priority Mail and UPS. The minimum charge to ship any order is $5.75 by USPS Priority Mail for a package weighing less than one pound. UPS costs a little more, but your package can be tracked and the delivery date is guaranteed for their expedited services. UPS Ground Service is not guaranteed (based on our experience.)

I need something shipped REALLY FAST!

Expedited shipping methods are available especially if you need your order quickly. We can ship by UPS Next Day, 2-Day Air or 3-Day Select. If you require expedited shipping, please call the Museum gift shop to make arrangements at 860-289-3832.

Requests for expedited shipping, same day, can be filled if your completed order is received by Noon Eastern Time. Because of the cost of fuel these days, overnight shipping is really expensive; 2nd Day shipping is about half the price of overnight shipping.

How long will it take UPS or the Post Office to deliver my order?

USPS Priority Mail is a very reliable service through the US Post Office. While not guaranteed, the average delivery time is 2 to 5 days. The post office delivers Monday through Saturday. All packages sent by Priority Mail include a Delivery Confirmation. Not really a tracking number, Delivery Confirmation gives the date and time the package was delivered (or attempted to be delivered.) If your package has been scanned as delivered by your post office, the package is considered by our office to be delivered. If you are not available to receive your mail in person during the day, please make sure your mail carrier has a safe place to leave your package.

If choosing to ship via Priority Mail, make sure the address you are providing has street delivery. If not, please provide your PO Box number. Addresses not receiving street delivery will cause delays, if your PO Box number is not provided. Packages shipped via USPS Priority Mail are not considered lost until 30 days after shipping.

USPS Priority Military Mail is used to ship to APO, FPO and AE addresses. Delivery time time is 10 to 45 days, sometimes longer.

UPS (the brown truck) is a highly reliable shipping venue that provides online tracking 24 hours a day and guaranteed delivery dates on their expedited shipping options. Regular UPS Ground Service is not guaranteed, in our experience. Tracking numbers are available for all packages and can be emailed to you. UPS delivers Monday through Friday and on Saturdays for an additional $15 fee. They cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes.

Actual shipping costs based on weight, package dimensions, and destination zip code are charged to the customer.
