CSA war bond

$100 Confederate War Bond of 1863
Product ID: 1903
Our Price $3.00

The Confederate States of America issued numerous bonds to finance its war effort. These bonds were issued under acts of the Confederate Congress between February 1861 to June 1864. Most of the war bonds took the form of bearer bonds with interest coupons; each coupon was exchangeable at six-month intervals.

This replica of a $100 Confederate Bond, issued on February 20, 1863, bears an interest rate of 7% and a redemption date of July 1, 1868. Four of the coupons which were to be redeemed are still attached to the bond. The Confederate government issued a total of 33,066 of this bond.

The bond is reproduced on antiqued parchment paper that looks and feels old. Document is folded in half and packaged in a clear plastic sleeve with interesting facts about the bond. Size of each page of document is 9-1/2 x 8-1/2".
